Sky Slider™ Roof

Open up to adventure! Now you can live life wide-open without owning a convertible. Available on Cherokee Sport and Cherokee Limited, is the innovative Sky Slider™ Roof.

The mammoth retractable roof is easy to use and is multi-adjustable, so you can customize your open-air freedom. It takes about 18 seconds to move the accordion-style top to a full-open position. The fabric roof can be gathered fully forward, or fully rearward, or partially opened to any position in between.

The Sky Slider Roof was extensively tested in Chrysler’s high-tech aero-acoustic wind tunnel. A unique roof structure was used that allows similar performance in noise, wind and crash safety as the standard hard-topped Cherokee.

What about water management? Got that covered too. The soft top is made of reinforced acrylic cloth so water just beads right off (it also aids in rain noise control). The Sky Slider™ Roof was repeatedly tested under high-pressure water and underwent carwash testing. Durability testing included 10,000 cycle operations in these environmental conditions (including salt spray).

Vehicle safety and security were also considered in the design process. The gears are made of case hardened steel. The system has a 137 kph limit and includes anti-pinch software in case your dog gets his snout in the way during opening or closing. The Sky Slider™ Roof was fully evaluated and tested in all regulatory impact and roof crush testing. The cable driven, aluminum rail structure has sturdy crossbows or ribs that ensure protection from would-be thieves.
