Packing For A Camping Weekend: What to Take
Camping. People either love it or hate it. But it’s a fair guess that if you’re thinking about buying a Jeep®, you’re going to come down fairly strongly on the ‘love it’ side of the fence.
How can some people not like camping? It’s always an adventure. Even back when you’re a kid and you camp out in the back yard, it’s exciting. You’re out in nature, you’re free from the pressures of everyday life and, most of all, you’re having fun.
Of course, there are different styles of camping. And depending on what kind of person you are, there’s one to suit you. You might be the rough and ready type. Just sling a canvas, some rope and some matches in the boot and off you go to fend for yourself: just you against the wild. But most of us prefer a few more creature comforts than that. Fire-toasted lizard might keep you alive but it tastes like…well, it doesn’t taste very nice, let’s just leave it at that.
So what are the essentials you need to pack in the Wrangler Sport when heading out on your camping adventure?
Well, obviously, your first consideration is where you’re going to sleep, so a tent is a good start. Check before you pack that everything is in the bag and you’ve got enough pegs. Sleeping bags are the next major concern. A sleeping mat or, if you’re felling luxurious, air mattress will keep you off the ground and warm. Just don’t forget the pump. Blowing one of those up will leave you red in the face – in more ways than one.
You’ll need some light, so a torch is essential, as is something to start a fire. A knife is also a must have and a small axe or hatchet never comes amiss. A hammer is also a good idea. Pushing tent pegs into the dry ground is never easy.
Take plenty of supplies. Food is important but it’s water that could save your life. You really can’t have enough so take as much as you can carry; you never know what might happen.
Camping in the wild puts you right up close to nature. And that includes all the nasty little things that might bite you. So take mosquito repellent and a mosquito net. One unprotected night and those little blighters can really ruin your trip.
These are the essentials but there’s really no limit to what you can take. The Wrangler Sport is built to carry. It was designed with your adventure in mind so make it your own. Oh, and one last thing, never forget toilet paper: You have been warned! More Articles: Jeep Patriot | Grand Cherokee Diesel | Patriot | Wrangler | Don't Hold Back
