Cherokee's standard 3.7-litre V6 petrol engine produces a robust 151 kW and 314 N.m of torque at 5,200 rpm and 4,000 rpm respectively, for a generous dose of power at the engine's low end that provides more pull when the going gets tough. 

Available on Limited is the ultra-efficient and economical 2.8-litre CRD turbo diesel engine with 147 kW and 460 N.m of torque at 3,600 rpm and 1,600 – 2,600 rpm respectively.

Both engines can be matched with the Selec-Trac II^® active full-time 4WD system⁽¹⁾, which allows for real time "on demand" four-wheel drive capability.
