Jeep Grand Cherokee Accident Avoidance

Grand Cherokee has a host of new high-tech accident avoidance features including available Forward Collision Warning (FCW)(1), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)(2), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)(3), and Rear Cross-Path Detection(4) that are designed to keep your family safe and secure while out on your adventures.

Grand Cherokee's four-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with rough road detection, brake assist and all-speed traction control helps prevent wheel lockup for improved steering under extreme braking and slippery conditions.

Anticipating the need for additional traction, all of Grand Cherokee's available four-wheel drive systems automatically respond to wheel slippage and improve vehicle stability.

Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

The available Blind Spot Monitoring feature utilizes dual radar sensors constantly monitor driver blind spots, providing notification of an encroaching vehicle via illuminating icons on side view mirror and an audible chime.

Rear Cross Path Detection

Exit the car park with confidence. The available Rear Cross-Path Detection feature aids the driver when backing out of parking spaces where their vision of cross-traffic is impaired. If a oncoming vehicle is detected an audible chime will warn the driver that it may not be safe to proceed.

Rain Sensing Wiper and Rain brake support

Every drive will be grand with automatic Rain Sensing Wipers, standard on Grand Cherokee. With 4 sensitivity settings, the front wipers detect moisture on the windshield and automatically activate at your desired speed.

Braking performance will also be improved in wet conditions thanks to Rain Brake Support. This smart system periodically applies a small amount of brake pressure to remove any water build up on the front brake rotors.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

The available FCW's radar sensors detect when a vehicle may be approaching another too rapidly, and alert the driver with both a visual and audible warning. The FCW feature has three distance settings, allowing drivers to manually set the warning to match driving behaviour.

Maintain Control

During extreme steering manoeuvres the Electronic Stability Control(5) (ESC) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over- or understeer. ESC automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESC is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off.
