Airbags

Patriot's advanced multi-stage front air bags(1) help provide nearly instantaneous protection by adjusting air bag output to crash severity.

Supplemental side-curtain front and rear air bags(1) offer side protection for all of the outboard occupants.

Protect your front passenger occupant even further by opting for the available supplemental front seat-mounted side air bags(1).

Patriot crush zones

Bodyframe

Engineered crush zones divert and dissipate impact energy away from the passenger compartment, help reduce injuries in the event of an accident. Patriot’s safety cage structure and front crumple zones absorb energy during a front impact; door guard beams help protect occupants during side impact; an ultra high-strength roll-formed steel cross-beam is bolted to the body structure under the rear seat to help transfer side-impact energy from one side of the car to the other.

active head restraints

Active Head Restraints(3)

Standard on Patriot, the front seat active head restraint system moves the head rest forward and upward in the event of a rear end collision to reduce the chance of head injuries.

Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS)

In the event of an impact that causes air bag deployment, Patriot immediately institutes safety measures. EARS cuts the supply of fuel to the engine, switches on the interior lights and the exterior hazard lights, and unlocks the doors after the vehicle has stopped.
