The Selec-Trac® 4x4 System features a full-time mode that will automatically switch from 2WD to 4WD when conditions dictate. Relying on internal wheel speed and traction control sensors, Selec-Trac® makes driving in uneven terrains and inclement weather safer and smoother while delivering superior efficiency when four-wheel drive isn’t needed.
The Rubicon is the vehicle all others are measured against for off-road capability.
STRENGTHEN YOUR GRIP ON NATURE
With a 4.10 low-gear ratio, the Rock-Trac®-equipped Rubicon can supply an 84:1 crawl ratio when equipped with the manual transmission. The heavy-duty transfer case delivers more torque and more control for superior off-road performance.
KEEP TYRES ON THE GROUND
This system, which is standard on the Rubicon, allows you to disconnect your sway bar, allowing your front wheels to drop and compress, resulting in improved suspension articulation on tough off-road environments.
Keeping you strong in the face of obstacles around and ahead, the rock rails on Rubicon help you slide over rocks and other hurdles. A winch-capable steel front bumper features removable endcaps for improved off-road capability.
DON’T LOSE TRACTION
When rock crawling over different surfaces and angles, power can easily be misapplied and wheels can start spinning. Rubicon is equipped with front and rear Tru-Lok® electronic locking differentials. They lock power and distribute it evenly between the wheels for ultimate traction.
WINCH-CAPABLE STEEL BUMPERS
The available steel front bumper is winch-capable, featuring removable endcaps so you can push the limits with more radical off-road adventures.

The heroic capability of the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine works hard to keep you going. It boast up to 209kW of power and 347Nm of torque, to ensure you can go anywhere and do anything.
New diesel engines have an SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalytic converter which uses AdBlue® to limit nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. This is applicable for Wrangler JL diesel models.
Every Wrangler is fortified with skid plates to help protect critical components. Heavy-gauge steel skid plates defend important equipment like the fuel tank and transfer case while a skid bar helps safeguard the automatic transmission oil pan.
